Three Equations, One Universe
What are things? Why do things change? Where do things happen? Three equations answer all three questions — and they map onto the conservation law.
Three Equations, One Universe
Three questions. Three equations. One framework.
What Are Things?
E = mc^2
Matter is concentrated energy. Energy is liberated matter. They are the same thing measured in different units, with c^2 as the conversion factor. The equation has no direction — it does not say matter produces energy or energy produces matter. It says they are two measurements of one phenomenon.
Matter is what energy looks like when it sits still.
Why Do Things Change?
dS >= 0
Entropy never decreases in a closed system. This is the only equation in physics with a direction. Every other law works the same forwards and backwards. This one does not. That asymmetry IS time.
Time is not a dimension you travel through. It is the name we give to the fact that states do not un-happen.
Where Do Things Happen?
S = A / 4l_p^2
The Bekenstein-Hawking formula. The information content of a region of space is proportional to its surface area, not its volume. The interior is encoded on the boundary. Space is holographic.
Space is what boundaries enclose.
The Conservation Law Connection
The conservation law — existence equals boundary applied to the product of state and void — is the same structure:
- Existence (what are things?) corresponds to E = mc^2
- State (why do things change?) corresponds to dS >= 0
- Boundary (where do things happen?) corresponds to S = A/4l_p^2
Physics discovered these truths about the physical universe. The conservation law states them about ANY system.
| Question | Physics | Conservation Law |
|---|---|---|
| What are things? | E = mc^2 | Existence is bounded state composed with void |
| Why do things change? | dS >= 0 | Irreversible causality gives change direction |
| Where do things happen? | S = A/4l_p^2 | Information lives on the boundary |
The brain system has mass without energy conversion (12.6% of sessions produce real verdicts). The immune system has surface without depth (all boundary, no infection memory). The healthy system needs both — mass that converts to energy, boundaries with depth behind them.
Three equations. One universe. One conservation law.
